JOHN A. HRASTAR
Senior Advisor
John is a Senior Advisor with Human Capital Advisors who brings to our clients more than twenty-five years of experience as a CEO, interim CEO, and CEO Advisor.
Having been both an owner and a CEO he has a unique perspective on the effect of the personal ownership concerns that drive business management issues. He is an advisor to leaders of private companies, family businesses, and non-profit organizations.
He founded InterSource, a CEO Advisory firm, in 1990. InterSource was voted the best management consulting firm in the Washington, DC area for midsize companies.
His primary focus is the transitional stages of growth at the critical junctures in a company’s lifecycle. His combination of technical and business skills provide a systematic approach to analyzing and implementing the processes that enable leaders and their teams to initiate and manage strategic growth, operational improvements, seamless leadership transitions and, for owners, successful exits.
He integrates his work with that of other stakeholders, experts, and advisors and has developed processes to facilitate that cooperative approach. He created and published the Company Blueprint™, a process that enables any team of advisors to guide a CEO/business owner through a successful ownership/management transition.
He developed the CEO Surroundtable® process, a concentrated forum to address particularly difficult business challenges. He is currently at work creating a generalized model of human infrastructure for commercial organizations.
John is a founding partner of the Greater Washington DC Family Business Alliance, a co-founder of the Metro DC Exit Planning Exchange, and a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, NeuroLeadership Institute, Society of International Business Fellows, Omicron Delta Kappa (National Leadership Honor Society), and Mensa.
