Position
The Tax Manager reports to the Revolution LLC Senior Vice President of Finance and is located in the Revolution LLC headquarters in Washington, DC.  This person is responsible for all tax returns and filings for the Revolution companies, the charitable foundations established by the Case family and related charities, and the Case family personal returns.  Consequently, the tax manager will be researching, planning, and filing corporate, partnership/LLC, not-for-profit, and personal tax returns.  More specific responsibilities include the following:
 
  • Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of all Federal, state and local tax filings for all entities required to file.
  • Research relevant Federal and state income and franchise tax laws with the goal of minimizing risk and tax burden.
  • Maintain close relationships with tax point of contacts at each portfolio company and keep abreast of portfolio company tax return preparation and any relevant issues.
  • Prepare tax projections as needed for tax planning.
  • Research and advise on the possible tax consequences of various transactions, including investments, mergers, acquisitions, and sales.
  • Prepare or supervise all sales and use tax filings.
  • Interface with Ernst & Young in both tax planning and compliance matters.
  • Develop, document and institute internal procedures to ensure all tax filing requirements and deadlines are met.
  • Oversee and support tax audits and negotiate with tax authorities.
  • Review and adjust tax strategies, procedures and practices based on audit findings and recommendations from Ernst & Young.
  • Prepare and maintain the tax basis financial statements supporting each entity.
    
Requirements
This position requires a minimum of five years experience in a major public accounting firm and/or a sophisticated corporate tax environment.  A BS in accounting and a CPA are required; an advanced degree in tax would be a plus.  The successful candidate will have experience with corporate, partnership/LLC, not-for-profit and individual taxes.  The ideal candidate will have transaction experience, preferably with equity funds and private investments.  The successful candidate will possess these additional attributes:

  • High initiative and creativity and strong problem solving skills
  • Organized and detail oriented and able to multitask successfully
  • Strong PC skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
