The company, a 200-employee, $30 million technology service provider to the intelligence community, enjoyed an outstanding reputation among its customer base and solid profits. Revenue growth was constrained by the difficulty in hiring and retaining an adequate numbers of “cleared” staff consultants. The CEO sensed that there were morale problems among staff and the management team and Human Capital Advisors was engaged to perform a Human Capital Management Review. We conducted interviews with 25 employees, including all senior management, administrative department heads and consultants at all levels. The result was a comprehensive report, presented orally to the senior management team, that identified a wide range of critical issues in culture, style, communications, decision making, and “HR” processes. Concurrent with our report, the company hired a senior HR executive. The report was utilized as follows:
- As a guide for the CEO and VP Administration in revising and improving certain management processes, policies and procedures.
- As a blueprint for the new HR Director to improve operating policies with an emphasis on employee compensation and recruitment.

| A $15 million dollar profitable Federal government IT service provider realized it lacked the internal infrastructure and executive expertise to accomplish its three-year revenue goal. The company retained a principal of Human Capital Advisors to create a Business Advisory Board to help with this and other challenges. The board’s members, with expertise in finance, business development, business infrastructure and general management, created a growth strategy, participated in the strategic planning process, helped assemble a senior management team and coached the CEO. The company achieved its three-year goal of $50 million in revenue.
